How to redeem an Xbox gift card code

An Xbox gift card is Microsoft Store credit — it buys games, apps, and add-ons across Xbox and Windows, and can go toward Game Pass. Because Xbox and the Microsoft Store share one wallet, a redeemed card works on your console and a linked PC. Here is how to redeem it.

Redeem on an Xbox console

  • Press the Xbox button to open the guide, then go to Store.
  • Select Redeem (or search for Redeem Code), and sign in if asked.
  • Enter the 25-character code and confirm. The credit is added to your Microsoft account balance.

Redeem on PC or the web

  • On Windows, open the Microsoft Store, select the account menu, and choose Redeem a code.
  • Or go to redeem.microsoft.com in a browser, sign in, and enter the 25-character code.

One balance across Xbox and Windows

Xbox and Microsoft Store credit share a single wallet on your Microsoft account, so credit redeemed on your console is spendable on a Windows PC signed in to the same account — and it can be applied to Game Pass. Our Xbox gift cards are US codes for US-region Microsoft accounts.

If the code won't redeem

  • Region — a US Xbox card redeems on a US-region Microsoft account. Check your account country first.
  • "This code isn't valid" or already used — re-check the characters, and contact the seller with your order ID if you never redeemed it.
  • Note: a standalone Game Pass code (a different product) has a redemption window; store credit does not expire once on your account.
